There is no perfect answer to when is the best time to change your filter. It depends on a lot of factors.

If you have not changed your filter in 90 days, it might be a good idea to check it.

Why do I need to change my filter?

Dirt, hair & debris in your filter can cause the system to work harder which will put more wear & tear on the system. This can also raise power bills.  If your filter stays dirty, it can actually cause the system to stop working all together. If your filter is dirty, it can also cause other components to get dirty and cause weaker air flow for the home.
